I received an interesting email and actually it was nothing new to me, but I'm sure that it will cause reflection for a lot of you out there.:

It's a good idea. Please pass along....In our current economic situation, every little thing we buy or do affects someone else and perhaps even their job. So, after reading this email, I think this lady is on the right track. Let's get behind her!!
My grandson likes Hershey's candy . It is marked made in Mexico now. I do not buy it any more. My favorite toothpaste Colgate is made in Mexico now. I have switched to Crest. You have to read the labels on everything. This past weekend I was at Kroger. I needed 60W light bulbs and Bounce dryer sheets. I was in the light bulb aisle and right next to the GE brand I normally buy was an off brand labeled, "Everyday Value." I picked up both types of bulbs and compared the stats - they were the same except for the price. The GE bulbs were more money than the Everyday Value brand but the thing that surprised me the most was the fact that GE was made in MEXICO and the Everyday Value brand was made in - get ready for this - the USA in a company in Cleveland , Ohio .So throw out the myth that you cannot find products you use every day that are made right here.So on to another aisle - Bounce Dryer Sheets....yep, you guessed it, Bounce cost more money and is made in Canada . The Everyday Value brand was less money and MADE IN THE USA ! I did laundry yesterday and the dryer sheets performed just like the Bounce Free I have been using for years and at almost half the price! So my challenge to you is to start reading the labels when you shop for everyday things and see what you can find that is made in t he USA - the job you save may be your own or your neighbors! If you accept the challenge, pass this on to others in your address book so we can all start buying American, one light bulb at a time! Stop buying from China ...........(We should have awakened a decade ago.......)Let's get with the program.... help our fellow Americans keep their jobs and create more jobs here in the U.S.A. !!
What america fails to understand is that a lot of the things that are plaguing us here is not so much as the government but that the people wont stand up for themselves nor our country and keep a watch-dog eye on what is going on around us. RECESSION? Man made. Do you really understand that? I mean really, what did you expect to happen in the end after years of hearing how some of the big companies have moved their plants or offices to places like Mexico? What did you think would happen to the jobs here in America? When Bush opened up the trade thing with Mexico that was a sure sign. These are not little ma and pa companies. NO. These are the businesses that shut the ma and pa businesses down, only to end up shutting the economy down. Bail out the banking institutions? WHY? Have you ever been .05 cents overdrawn and charged 35.00 in NSF fee? Try getting that reversed. Credit card companies that throw credit cards at you that they know you cant possibly pay if you max out and then charge you 21% interest and then 21% interest on the amount that comes to...you dont think that is what they are figuring on to make their money. Businesses aren't trying to make a small profit. America's greed makes the ultimate goal to make as much money as possible. Then like most things that have a hidden agenda, or ulterior motives, it all starts to backfire. After all you give out credit cards and mortgages, and then your buddies in the other corporations, decide that they can cut costs and make more profit if they go to some third world country where they dont have to abide by our laws...where instead of paying someone 6.00 an hour or whatever, you can pay them .30 cents. Oh, it's great for the company...it still makes money off the american people, while it has taken the livelihood away from so many of us. But what our government is really good at is "diversionary tactics". Yep. They keep the "little people" and if you are not hobnobbing with the fortune 500 people then you are the little people, they keep us occupied with stuff that in the grand scheme of things is nothing-absolutely nothing- compared to what we really need to be focused on. So they keep us occupied with such negative and oppressive thoughts like "recession", or "hidden weapons of mass destruction pointed at the U.S." type of stuff..., allowing drugs to destroy its citizens (do you think they make deals with these countries to close their eyes to the drug trafficking if they allow us to move our big corporations there for cheap labor?) for if they really cant stop cocaine and other crap from coming in, how in the world will they be able to stop something like biological chemicals coming in here? Think about it. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. (to be continued)
